During dry ice production, approximately 40% of the liquid CO₂ is converted into solid form, while the remaining 60% becomes gaseous.
With the Recovery System, this gaseous CO₂ can be captured and re-liquefied for reuse in the production cycle.
This system not only ensures significant cost savings but also improves resource management by reducing waste and CO₂ emissions into the environment.
The System
The CO₂ recovery system is compatible with pelletizers with a dry ice production capacity of 100/150 kg/h. The system consists of:
- Cyclone to separate dry ice from the pelletizer discharge
- Compressor to increase gaseous CO₂ pressure from atmospheric to 20 bar
- Filter to purify the gaseous CO₂
- Pre-cooler for the gaseous CO₂
- Closed-cycle condenser to cool the gaseous CO2
- Heat exchanger to liquefy the gaseous CO₂ into liquid CO₂
- Check valve system for automatic feeding of the pelletizer with liquid CO₂ taken from the recovery system and the storage tank
