Dry ice is the solid form of carbon dioxide (CO₂), which solidifies at a temperature of -78.5°C. This natural material possesses intrinsic thermal energy and, at atmospheric pressure, sublimates, with a loss of 10%-15% per day.
The CO₂ used for blasting has the same degree of purity as that used in the food and beverage industries, and is certified by FDA, EPA and USDA. It is an odorless, non-conductive and non-flammable gas, widely used as an additive in the beverage industry (for example in the production of beer and sparkling water) and for food freezing.
CO₂ is a non-toxic liquefied gas, easily storable and relatively economical. It is recovered from industrial processes such as fermentation and petrochemical refining, avoiding waste. During the blasting process, when CO₂ returns to the atmosphere, no additional carbon dioxide is generated, contributing to sustainable use of the product.

Dry Ice Sublimation
The unique characteristic of dry ice is that it “disappears”, returning to its gaseous state: at atmospheric pressure it sublimates directly, passing from the solid state to the gaseous state without transitioning through the liquid state (with a loss of 10-15% per day).
